Rainforest Reset & Renew: A Yoga, Meditation, Movement Retreat to Grow Our Hearts in Community
Join Aetheria Movement for a 4-night retreat in the rainforest of Costa Rica at Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River, a sustainable, carbon neutral oasis located on Chorotego land and in one of the world’s last fully intact “dwarf forests.” Co-led by Sarah Lee, CMMT, RYT-500 and Andrea Cameron, CPT, RYT-500, this retreat combines community, movement, meditation, and exploration of Patanjali’s 8 limbed path of yoga. In this tumultuous and heart-breaking time, join a community of humans who are living the yamas and niyamas and want to “not add one more drop of suffering to a world already hurting so much,” as renowned Buddhist teacher, Larry Yang would say.
In between twice daily yoga, meditation, and movement practices, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the healing thermal waters of Rio Perdido, eat three nutritious, locally sourced meals, and get more connected to your own humanity and the group’s through excursions. We’ll embark on a guided hike together, go white water tubing, and seek out tapirs on a night hike to Tapir Valley.

“In the tumult of this world, there are constants. People need each other. Every motion brushes against others, moving. None of us are siloed and none of us are still.”
Meet your hosts
Andrea Cameron
Andrea Cameron, J.D., RYT-500, CPT founded Aetheria Movement in 2021 after a lifetime of moving that started with classical dance training at age three. When she stopped dancing regularly in her mid-20’s, her movement passion went towards fitness and various yoga asana styles. What started as a pandemic answer to moving online has continued - Andrea is an avid traveler and currently a digital nomad. Anyplace can be your yoga studio or gym - taking movement with you is her approach these days. Andrea has a passion for connected and intuitive movement, music (a good playlist can make all the difference in a workout!), and community.
In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise and a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance), Andrea holds these movement qualifications: Group Fitness Certification with ACE, TRX Qualification, 20 hr Classical Yin Yoga certification, 16 hr Restorative Yoga certification, and soon to be 40 hr Therapeutic Yoga certification.
Sarah Lee
Sarah Lee, P.hD., RYT-500, CMMT, Aetheria Movement Lead Instructor, is a San Francisco Bay Area based teacher and practitioner. For Sarah, mindful movement has been a way to heal some challenges such as anxiety and stress, as well as be an avenue for creative expression, especially when she was studying for her Ph.D. and in her current career in academia.
Sarah’s teaching style is very intentional, yet playful. She focuses on alignment and using the breath as a guide. Sarah will definitely challenge you in the physical asana so that you can get out of your head and focus on the present moment. She also challenges practitioners to be kinder to themselves and have a nonjudgmental attitude towards their practice – sometimes that is the hardest part!
In addition to being a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (training with Jack Kornfeld and Tara Brach) and 500 hr Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance), Sarah holds these movement qualifications: modern Reformer Pilates certification (XCORE), certified barre (Pure Barre) instructor, and 50 hr Rocket Yoga training. Sarah is so honored to be part of the Aetheria team, as she played a role in the creation process with Andrea as she crafted and visualized her dream.

Fitness Guidelines
Our retreat at Rio Perdido Resort is designed for individuals with a moderate to high fitness level who can comfortably navigate natural terrain, including hills, uneven ground, and stairs. The property’s expansive landscape and immersive experiences require a level of mobility that may not be suitable for those with significant physical limitations or medical conditions that affect endurance or balance.
While our yoga sessions accommodate various skill levels, participation in activities such as guided hikes, thermal river exploration, and movement-based practices will involve walking and standing for extended periods. If you have concerns about your ability to fully enjoy the retreat, we encourage you to consult with your healthcare provider before booking.
Our goal is to provide an enriching and restorative experience for all participants, ensuring everyone can fully engage in the beauty and adventure of Costa Rica. If you have any questions about the retreat’s physical requirements, please reach out—we’re happy to help determine if this experience is the right fit for you!
